Associate Professor

Agostinho Abrunhosa was born on 13 January 1969 in Angola.

He holds an Undergraduate degree in Enterprise Management and Organisation from ISEG – Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, specialising in Information Systems for organisations.

He completed the 3rd Executive MBA AESE/IESE in 2005. Since 2008, he has been a professor of Information Systems, in the Department of Operations at AESE, where he has already taught classes in various executive programmes and the Executive MBA.

He has worked with AESE since 1986, in a variety of positions. He is currently Secretary-General and director of Operations, with his position encompassing production, information and communication systems, security and maintenance, logistics and planning.

Throughout his professional career, he has served as a consultant for a variety of projects for the implementation of information systems, mainly in the hotel industry and in accounting offices. He has developed technical proficiency with regard to hardware, software, networks, e-commerce, content management and programming.

He was an information technology coach for a number of years, helping organisations to leverage the business potential of new technologies and participating in the organisational adaptation process.

He supplemented his basic education with training programs in Negotiation, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Project Management and Balanced Scorecard, among others.

He is the author of several AESE case studies in marketing and entrepreneurship.

His interests are as follows:

• Choice, implementation and exploration of organisational Information Systems

• New forms of online interaction (web and enterprise 2.0) and social networks

• Innovation based on Information and Communication Technologies

• Installation and use of ERPs and CRM

• Use of IT in health (process management and improvement of care provided)

• Network effect and dissemination of innovations

His hobbies are reading, watching films, listening to music, programming and walking.
