A China está a recuperar a um ritmo acelerado após a reabertura de sua economia. As interrupções nas cadeias de abastecimento estão a diminuir, enquanto as disrupções nos mercados de energia e alimentos causados pela guerra estão a reduzir.
Simultaneamente, o aperto geral e síncrono da política monetária pela maioria dos bancos centrais deve começar a dar frutos, com a inflação a regressar aos valores target.
Segundo a última previsão, o crescimento global será de 2,8% este ano, antes de subir para 3,0% em 2024. A inflação global diminuirá, embora mais lentamente do que o inicialmente previsto, de 8,7% em 2022 para 7,0% este ano e 4,9% em 2024. Notavelmente, os mercados emergentes e as economias em desenvolvimento já se encontram em muitos casos, com as taxas de crescimento que avançaram de 2,8% em 2022 para previsivelmente 4,5% este ano.
O abrandamento concentra-se nas economias avançadas, especialmente na zona euro e no Reino Unido, onde o crescimento deverá cair para 0,7% e -0,4%, respetivamente, este ano, antes de recuperar para 1,8% e 2,0% em 2024.
A inflação está muito mais firme do que o previsto há alguns meses. Embora a inflação mundial tenha diminuído, tal reflete sobretudo a forte inversão dos preços dos recursos energéticos e dos produtos alimentares. Espera-se que diminua para uns ainda elevados 5,1% este ano.

Em causa estão os impactos da crise climática, as múltiplas disrupções nas cadeias de abastecimento fruto de uma nova reorganização global, e as consequências, económicas e de abastecimento alimentar, resultantes da Ofensiva russa na Ucrânia.
Num cenário ainda algo instável após a pandemia da COVID-19, destacam-se as mudanças no clima que induzem disrupção em diversos pontos de produção alimentar, o aumento dos custos de produção e transporte, e as incertezas das exportações agrícolas provenientes de geografias importantes como o caso da Ucrânia e da Rússia, ambas principais fornecedores de cereais e fertilizantes.
Neste contexto, é crucial o papel das políticas públicas e dos investimentos privados nas infraestruturas de produção, nas tecnologia de informação com a respetiva digitalização e automatização de processos, e no capital humano de forma a aumentar a produtividade agroalimentar na Europa e em Portugal. Os objetivos a traçar devem estar alinhados com os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) da Agenda 2030, permitindo aos países responder ao expectável aumento do consumo de alimentos, cumprindo com as metas climáticas e com a redução das emissões de gases com efeito de estufa.
Em Portugal o setor está cada vez melhor preparado, sendo já uma referência mundial em múltiplas áreas como os casos do vinho, azeite ou frutos vermelhos. Os diferentes intervenientes sociais devem claramente apoiar a criação de condições para uma agricultura moderna, com a contínua introdução de mais-valias para a alimentação, apostando em qualidade, diversidade e novidade.

A imperativa urgência em alinhar os decisores nacionais em temáticas como a necessidade de incrementar a percentagem de energias renováveis no mix energético, o armazenamento de energia, a segurança e a eficiência energética, as comunidades energéticas, assim como as políticas públicas eficientes, que possibilitem condições de investimento e modelos de financiamento alinhados com os objetivos nacionais e comunitários para a independência energética e neutralidade carbónica, vão estar em foco nesta conferência.
Para debater estes temas, o Agrupamento de Alumni incluiu no seu Alumni Learning Program 22-23, em colaboração com o Programa AMEG, uma sessão a realizar em 26 de janeiro de 2023, que contará com a presença de João Manso Neto, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) da Greenvolt – Energias Renováveis, prestigiado gestor e profundo conhecedor da temática em apreço.
Seguir-se-á uma mesa redonda para ouvir o contributo de algumas empresas e instituições cujas experiências no caminho da transição energética em curso permitirão seguramente muitos e valiosos ensinamentos.

But, at the same time, it is associated with many of the problems we live with. Inequality is a good example. Even more, the new global challenges, like the risk of ecological collapse or the everywhere present impact of technological disruption, are showing that traditional capitalism cannot respond. A global shared sense of urgency and innovative approaches are required. It has to involve governments, institutions and a strong civil society. Companies play an essential role leading the needed change. They have to ensure the creation of shared value for all the stakeholders. They have to run purpose driven businesses, redefining their role in society.
The good news is that there is a general growing support to this approach, from SDG to ESG trends. But it requires clear and responsible company leaders and strong commitment from Boards. A good example is Fundación SERES, Spanish association focused in connecting economic and social progress, with over 150 companies representing 30% of Spanish GDP.
We will cover the evolution of capitalism, new general trends from CSR to ESG, the role of companies creating shared value and real examples of some companies." Telecommunications Engineer from the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid and PDD from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Empresa (IESE).
He started his professional career in Sainco and in 1983 he entered the spanish branch of the IT multinational Hewlett Packard, where he was appointed director of the Telecommunications, Electronics and Defense area. In the beginning of 1992 he was designated Director for Spain of AirTouch International, one of the founders of Airtel Móvil S.A, where he was Director of Technology, obtaining the first licence when the liberalisation of the Telecommunication sector occured. CEO of Microsoft Ibérica from 1998 and July 2002, he then went to Vodafone, first as COO and later appointed CEO on February 2003 and Chairman CEO on January 2008. Until the 1st of January 2019 he was Chairman of Vodafone España and Chairman of Vodafone España Foundation. Nowadays he is the Chairman, since april 2015, of March R.S. which belongs to Banca March. He also chairs Fundación SERES which unites more than 140 companies and focuses in promoting the compromise of the companies with Society.
Francisco Roman is a member of the Board and Adviser of: Universidad Europea de Madrid (Laureate International Universities), The Advisory Board del Global Corporation Center of IE And of the Professional Council of ESADE. He is also a member of the Directive of the Círculo de Empresarios, The Rector Council of APD (Asociación para el Progreso de la Dirección) and different sectoral associations of Telecommunications. He was an independent adviser for NH Group (2014-2017). In the Social field he is patrono of Fundación CASER. In the innovations and startups development field, he takes part on Vitamina k and K Fund, and is a member of Bullnet’s Advisory Council, a venture capital society specialized on technology. He teaches Strategic Direction on IESE Business School.
