He completed a Master of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General Master of Business Administration (B.B.A.), and Business Administration and Management (1983–1988) at the University of Groningen. He completed the Acquisition and Integration program (2008–2008) at INSEAD, Finance for Senior Executives (2010–2010) at Harvard Business School, and obtained the IBGC Certified Board Member certification (2015–2015) from the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC).
He spent 30 years at Philips, having worked in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. He was CEO of LATAM, Chief of Markets (Executive Committee), and sold Philips Domestic Appliances to private equity. He served as Chief Executive Officer for 4 years and created Versuni, a company focused on home appliances (Espresso, Airfryer, etc.).
He has been a member of the Audit Committee at RUG – University of Groningen (Netherlands) since 2022, and since 2026, a member of the Audit Committee at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen (Netherlands).
