AESE Business School’s privacy and personal data protection policy
Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement is an integral part of the Terms of Use of the AESE website and regulates the possible collection and processing, namely consent, in relation to personal data collected or provided by users in any part of the website, as well as the exercise of their rights in relation to this data, under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 27 April 2016).
AESE Business School
AESE is the first Business School in Portugal, founded in 1980, as a result of an initiative of the Association of Higher Business Studies.
AESE is dedicated to specific training in business management and management according to a Christian perspective of Man and Society.
AESE is committed to protecting the privacy of its students, alumni, participants in general in its initiatives and users of the website and, in this context, has prepared this Privacy Policy in order to demonstrate its commitment and respect for the rules of privacy and protection of personal data.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully because, if you are accessing our website, the provision of your personal data implies knowledge and acceptance of the conditions contained herein.
This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the collection and processing of personal data carried out by AESE. Any links to websites outside of AESE are not covered by this privacy statement.
Personal Data
Any information, of any nature and regardless of its support, including sound and image, relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
An identifiable person is one who can be identified directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identification number or to one or more specific elements of his or her physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.
As a rule, we do not collect sensitive data. Whenever sensitive data is made available in compliance with a legal obligation or voluntarily and at the initiative of the user, we assume your explicit, free and unequivocal consent to process this information in relation to the purposes for which it was provided.
Data controller
The entity responsible for the collection and processing of personal data is AESE, which provides you with the service and which, in the context, decides what data is collected, the means of processing the data and for what purposes it is used.
Type of personal data collected
AESE, within the scope of its activity, collects and processes the personal data necessary for enrollment in programs developed by the School, namely, MBA, Executive Training, Seminars, Events and Continuity Sessions, processing in this context data such as name, address, country, telephone number, e-mail address, academic qualifications, profession and company.
The personal data collected are processed electronically and in strict compliance with the personal data protection legislation, being stored in specific databases, created for this purpose and which guarantee their security and confidentiality in accordance with the accepted technology and information standards, in order to protect from loss, alteration, destruction, misuse in general or that the data collected will be used for a purpose other than that for which it is consent has been given by the data subject.
If you wish to download certain content (namely the catalogues and brochures related to MBAs, Executive Education, Seminars, Events and Continuity Sessions), subscribe to the newsletter, subscribe to other AESE training programs and events or are asked for more information, you will be presented with a personal data collection form.
If you fill in any of the forms available for the purposes described above, we consider your conscious, express and unequivocal consent to be given to the activation and subsequent use of the same.
Purposes of the processing of personal data
The purpose of the processing of personal data is the management of the training programs organized by AESE (MBA, Executive Training, Seminars, Events and Continuity Sessions).
From time to time, AESE may use the contact information provided to provide information that it considers relevant, and the Data Subject is always allowed to stop receiving this type of information.
At the time of data collection, you may be provided with more detailed information about the use we will make of your data.
The data is also collected for the exclusive use of AESE’s marketing activities, for the purpose of compiling aggregated statistics, metrics and elements on generalized trends for the improvement and optimization of advertising campaigns and for other marketing, promotional and analytical purposes.
Shelf life
The period of time for which the data is stored and retained varies according to the purpose for which the information is processed and in accordance with the legal obligations and requirements that may apply, and which require the data to be kept for a minimum period of time.
Thus, and whenever there is no specific legal obligation, the data will be stored and kept only for the minimum period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently processed, after which it will be deleted.
We expressly remind you that at any time you can request the deletion of all your personal data from our databases. This request should be sent to the email rgpd@aese.pt.
Access, updating, rectification, opposition, limitation, removal and portability of personal data
Any request for access, updating, rectification, opposition, limitation, removal, portability or not subject to automated individual decisions of personal data that may identify you, may be requested by contacting AESE directly (rgpd@aese.pt) or by using the contact form on the AESE website, indicating the subject “Alteration, Opposition, Deletion or Portability of personal data”.
Objection to receiving contacts for marketing purposes
AESE may promote dissemination actions among its current and former students or participants in training actions or events in general, for any of its activities and/or new training programs, unless the Data Subject has objected when collecting the data.
If you do not wish to receive these communications, you may object, at any time, to the use of your data for marketing purposes, to the sending of informative communications or to inclusion in directories or information services, by sending a written request addressed to AESE (rgpd@aese.pt) or using the contact form on the AESE website, indicating the subject “Opposition to the receipt of contacts for marketing purposes”.
Communication of data to other entities (third parties and subcontractors)
As a rule, AESE does not share users’ personal data with third parties with whom it has not established a contractual relationship that provides for the confidential treatment of this data in accordance with AESE’s privacy statement.
AESE may communicate your personal data to third parties provided that, for this purpose, it has unequivocally obtained the consent of the Data Subjects or when:
(a) the transfer is carried out in the context of compliance with a legal obligation, a decision of the National Data Protection Commission or a court order, or
b) the communication is carried out to protect the vital interests of the Data Subjects or any other legitimate purpose provided for by law.
AESE takes the appropriate measures to ensure that the entities that have access to the data are reputable and offer the highest guarantees at this level, which will be duly enshrined and safeguarded in a contract to be signed between AESE and the third party(ies).
Thus, any entity subcontracted by AESE will process the personal data collected and processed, in the name and on behalf of AESE, under the obligation to adopt the necessary technical and organisational measures in order to protect the personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, dissemination or unauthorised access and against any other form of unlawful processing.
In any case, AESE remains responsible for the personal data collected.
Changes to the AESE privacy policy
AESE reserves the right at any time and without prior notice and with immediate effect, but without prejudice to the legal rights granted to the Data Subjects, to change, add or revoke, partially or totally, this Privacy Statement. Any changes will be immediately posted on this website, so we recommend that you periodically visit this page to stay up to date with the latest version.
