Tenho um bom produto, mas não sei porque é que os clientes não repetem a compra. Por onde começar? A competitividade das empresas exige que sejam tão eficientes em tempos de expansão como de contenção, têm de ser sustentavelmente eficientes. Os clientes são cada vez mais hábeis a gerir o processo de compra: pressionam as equipas de vendas e no momento seguinte exigem um desconto. Os vendedores que respondem com discursos vazios não conseguem lutar contra a inevitabilidade de vender o mesmo a preços mais baixos. Os fornecedores que colecionam dados tangíveis do valor económico que entregam aos seus clientes conseguem escapar da ratoeira que implica discutir preço em ambientes fortemente competitivos.
Neste short program vamos aprender uma metodologia que permite fugir das armadilhas associadas à discussão do preço e iremos trabalhar para implementar uma nova filosofia de vendas que permite documentar e demonstrar o benefício entregue aos clientes. Designamos este processo por Customer Value Management. Ele permite dotar as empresas com uma vantagem competitiva efetiva e sustentável, que aumenta receitas e garante margem. Este processo de mudança deve ser liderado pela força de vendas, com o apoio da sua alta direção. A direção comercial assegura a conversão da empresa que transaciona bens indiferenciados num fornecedor de valor económico para os seus clientes.
A venda com base em valor económico tem sido adotada com sucesso por empresas de referência. Os resultados obtidos com esta metodologia sugerem um conjunto de boas práticas que podem ser adotadas por empresas que procuram ativamente incrementar as receitas provenientes das suas grandes contas. O primeiro caso, Glaxosmithkline, permite dar contexto a todo o short program introduzindo os práticas e as metodologias que os departamentos de compras têm vindo a adotar com o intuito de conseguir comprar melhor e com melhores preços. O caso Dominion Motors & Controls, permite tratar o tema da conceptualização de valor (“Conceptualize value”) e a formulação de propostas de valor (“Formulate value propositions”). O caso seguinte, Value Selling at SKF Service, oferece a possibilidade de estudar como sustentar propostas de valor (“Substantiate value propositions”); como desenhar ofertas adaptadas que respondem às necessidades efectivas dos clientes (“Tailor market offerings”); e como transformar equipas comerciais em gestores de valor (“Transform sales force to value merchants”). Por fim, o caso Atlantic Computers vai ajudar a compreender como é que se pode capturar parte do benefício gerado e entregue ao cliente (“Profit from value provided”).
    Adicionalmente, este short program integra duas conferências e um workshop. A primeira destas sessões intitula-se “Value based selling” e destina-se a sistematizar o modelo “Superior Value in Business Markets”, ilustrando-o com exemplos reais. Na segunda conferência, é introduzido o tema das redes industriais e da venda de soluções em B2B. O título desta segunda conferência é “Managing customer-supplier relationships in B2B markets — a network approach to marketing and purchasing in industrial markets”.
