He was a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (1971-74) and Visiting Professor at IST, Instituto Superior Técnico (1974-75). At AESE – Escola Superior de Gestão e Negócios, he has been a professor since 1984 and President of the Operations Department (1985-2010). Since 2024, he is Professor Emeritus. He also taught at IESE in Madrid and other B Schools.
At AESE, since its foundation in 1980, he promoted the school and served as a member. He was Professor of Operations, Technology and Innovation and, after 12 years as Director (2002-2014), he was appointed President of AESE Business School, until 2023. He is currently President Emeritus of the School.
Among other specific projects, he launched health and agribusiness programs at AESE, the Business Initiative Chair at the beginning of NAVES SCR – a venture capital company focused on Alumni ventures. He developed a national project to increase the competitiveness of the wine business ecosystem with research work, case studies and events.
It was the inspiration behind the AESE Programs in Angola and the launch of the EFMD on business school development in Africa.
He is the author of several case studies in Operations, Environment and Innovation, published by AESE and used by several business schools.
He is a member of the Board of several companies and foundations.

He won Best Paper Award at the 4th International Conference on Organization and Management (ICOM 2019), organized by the College of Business at the University of Abu Dhabi, entitled “Applying Business Interactive Games for Capacity Building: A Case Study in Health Care Operations Management”, in co-authorship with Prof. Nuno Biga, from AESE Business School.
He is co-author of the book “Dreaming about an optimistic hospital”, a guide to revitalizing the humanization of care in healthcare institutions (Edições AESE, 2018). Contributed with an article to the book “Reflections on Medical Ethics”, which includes the participation of 20 other health specialists (Principia, 2019). He wrote the chapter “Managing people with ethics and compassion” in the book “Emerging Human and Techno-Human Business Management Dynamics in a Globalized Environment” (Nova Science Publishers, 2020). He is co-author of an article “Being ‘on a Mission’ at Work: How to Make Mission Statements Effective in the Healthcare Sector”, in the book “Regionalized Management of Medicine” (Springer, 2022).
He participated in the study “Business culture: empirical study in Spanish and Portuguese companies”, by IESE (2007), in the study “Impact of working hours on sleep and mental health” (2017) and "Attrition and talent retention" (2024).

He holds a PhD in Government and Organizational Culture from the University of Navarra, Master in Urban Planning from the Faculties of Architecture and Engineering of the University of Porto and Executive MBA AESE / IESE, graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto.
He worked at the Soares da Costa Project Office and Quaternaire Portugal before living two years in Kinshasa (DR Congo), where he managed development cooperation projects.
In 1999, when he returned to Portugal, he was hired to manage urban requalification projects at Porto 2001 - European Capital of Culture. He was a Guest Assistant at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
He has worked at AESE since 2003, where he held various management positions. He is currently Professor and Head of the Academic Area of ​​Operations, Technology and Innovation. He was a teacher at ASM - Angola School of Management for 10 years.
He specializes in Service Business Management, in particular in Operations, Customer Service Design and Delivery. He is a consultant in these areas and has been a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of a group of transport companies.

Attended the PDE at AESE.
He dedicated himself to teaching in 1986. He was Director of PDE - General Management Program, at Oporto, for 15 years. He has taught at AESE since 2001, where he teaches in the areas of Human Behavior, Interpersonal Communication, Leadership, Motivation and Negotiation.
He is currently Executive Administrator of a group of Schools.

Since then, her professional career has always been closely linked to International Cooperation, having intervened in several countries such as Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe, carrying out development and humanitarian emergency missions. . After working at the High Commission for Health in 2009/2010, specifically by the National Coordination for HIV/AIDS Infection, Cooperation area, he assumed the General Direction of a Portuguese NGO, having since then not left the work with the Social Economy Sector .
Currently, she collaborates with the IHMT in Cooperation and Research projects in International Health, integrating the Global Health and Tropical Medicine group in the areas of Human Resources, Health Evaluation and Strategic Planning.
At AESE, in May 2014 she took over the direction of the GOS – Management Program for Social Organizations, is a senior teaching fellow in the area of ​​Human Factor in the Organization and is part of the Coaching team. She directs the Women's Leadership Program – One Steap Ahead.

Born in Porto, Ana Machado holds an undergraduate degree and a Master’s in Economics, from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, having started to work with AESE at that time. She was a director of Associação Juvenil dos Álamos, responsible for the organization of the Introduction to Business course, which is organized in cooperation with AESE.  
She did an internship in the Department of International Relations of Banco de Portugal and worked for the Regulatory Authority of the Energy Sector. During that time she published her first scientific article “The signalling theory of excessive technological adoption”, Health Care Management Science 2 (1999), with Pedro Pita Barros and Carlos Gouveia Pinto.
She then spent three years in Italy, pursuing postgraduate studies in Philosophy. Since she returned to Portugal, she has been working in consultancy to tertiary sector organizations. In 2007, she resumed contact with the AESE, attending the PDE.

Adolfo González was born in Mozambique (Maputo). He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Universidade do Minho), has a certificate of  Ross Business School's Program of Strategy and Marketing (Universidade de Michigan), and of 26th PDE (AESE).

Since 2004, he is an AESE professor in the area of Business Policy and Marketing. He is also Co-Director of the Management and Leadership Program (PGL), since 2011, and Health Sector Senior Management Program (PADIS), since 2005. He is in charge of AESE business activity in the North of the country. He teaches, since 2009, at the Angola School of Management (Luanda) and he is member of the team which develops AESE's activity in Moçambique, since 2012.
As a consultant, he has developed business projects (mainly sales management and sales teams, and restructuring of commercial areas), in companies active in different sectors. Among others, motorcar, publishing, hospital, entertainment, real estate, construction, slight metalworking, etc.
The hobbies to which he gives most attention are sport and cooking.
