Mike Rosenberg is a Professor of the Practice of Management in the Strategic Management Department at IESE Business School. He began teaching part-time in the MBA and Global Executive programs in 1999 and joined the full-time faculty in 2003.
Professor Rosenberg teaches in IESE’s MBA and Executive Education programs, where he teaches strategy, geopolitics, and sustainability, and publishes on these topics on the blog Doing Business on the Earth.
His first book, “Strategy and Sustainability,” was published in 2015 and explores the link between business and the environment from a corporate perspective. His second book, “Strategy and Geopolitics,” was published in 2017 with the aim of encouraging business leaders to pay more attention to issues of war and peace. Each book offers its own analytical approaches to these two issues. His latest book, “Learning to Fly,” deals with how one can think about career management given the complexity of today’s world.
From 2004 to 2009, he managed IESE’s International Executive Education Unit. He was also the Academic Director of the Advanced Management Program in Media Entertainment and co-edited Managing Media Businesses, which is based on the course. Rosenberg is also the academic co-director of IESE’s ESG course, as well as several custom programs for the school’s corporate clients.
Prior to joining IESE Business School, he was the Automotive Practice Leader at Heidrick & Struggles and, before that, spent 15 years as a management consultant in Europe, North America, and Asia for A.T. Kearney and Arthur D. Little, primarily in the automotive sector.
Professor Rosenberg holds a PhD from Cranfield University, an MBA from IESE Business School, and a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
