Understanding your company’s position relative to competitors is crucial for improving the customer experience and gaining a competitive advantage. A “Retail Safari” is an activity where participants visit stores or service providers to observe, study, and draw inspiration from consumer practices, trends, and experiences to improve their own customer interactions. Although it focuses on retail, the insights gained can be applied to any industry.

The Retail Safari Short Program helps identify strengths and weaknesses, outperform competitors, and elevate your brand to new heights. For example, a bank’s marketing team might visit fast-food or premium restaurants, clothing stores, or bookstores to observe store design, technologies, and customer experiences that can be adapted to improve their own services.

This program is structured and guided, using evaluation templates to generate insights and identify immediate and long-term actions for your company. It is a strategic tool to identify areas for improvement, outperform competitors, and elevate your brand to a new level of excellence.

Methodology

By placing participants face-to-face with real business conflicts, executives are called upon to take on the role of decision-makers in circumstances similar to their daily lives in organizations.

Cases constitute challenges that require effective responses based on a rigorous analysis of limited or even insufficient information, within ambiguous or complex political-economic contexts.

Individual diagnosis and decisions are negotiated with experienced, talented, and ambitious colleagues.

Phases of the case method:

Reading and studying each case to analyze the facts, alternatives, and decisions that unfold within it.

The richness of this step lies in the fact that each participant presents approaches and solutions based on their professional background and experience. The various approaches also provide an excellent opportunity to examine different management criteria.

With a broader view resulting from the examination carried out in the two previous phases, the professor directs and coordinates the debate, synthesizes the main aspects of the case, relates them to the most significant theories, and highlights relevant values and options, considering the various alternatives and possible decision criteria.
