É casado, tem duas filhas e sete netos. É licenciado em Engenharia Química - Industrial, pelo Instituto Superior Técnico, da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (1962) e Doutorando em Filosofia da Ação e Direção de Organizações, pela Universidade de Navarra. Frequentou diversas formações, nomeadamente, o PADE da AESE. Exerceu vários cargos de direção em empresas como a Companhia Portuguesa de Trefilaria (1962/1972) e a Pregalva (1973/1974). Na Comportel, foi Administrador e Presidente do Conselho de Administração, para além de Gerente de 6 outras empresas de elevadores (5 em Portugal e 1 em Macau) (1975/1985). Foi Presidente do Conselho de Administração da Petal Portuguesa (1982/1984), Presidente do Conselho de Administração da Compave (1985/1985), Diretor Geral da Corsino / Legrand (1986/1988), Administrador Delegado da Legrand Elétrica, S.A.( 1989/1995), Gerente, Administrador e Vice-Presidente do Grupo IPG (1996/2000). Foi Professor Assistente do IST. É Professor de Política Comercial e de Marketing na AESE. Foi Presidente de 3 associações e membro da Direção de mais 4, destacando-se a presidência por vários mandatos da APQ, Associação Portuguesa para a Qualidade. Ao longo da sua carreira tem desenvolvido vários trabalhos como consultor e formador. É Coordenador de diversos projetos na AESE e Assessor do Conselho de Administração da Holding do Grupo Regojo. Na AESE, realizou o Estudo da Competitividade da Indústria Química Portuguesa e Os fatores externos que afetam a competitividade da Siderurgia Nacional Longos. É ainda coordenador de vários estudos publicados sobre a Gestão Empresarial em Portugal. Os seus interesses incluem • Marketing • Associativismo • Qualidade. Tem como hobbies a leitura, o golfe e as viagens (a mais de 70 países). Tem formação académica em Contabilidade e Administração, na Escola Militar IPE e em Gestão Empresas do ISOCT. Realizou o 33.º PADE na AESE, Ética e Responsabilidade Corporativa pela UC, Coaching Executivo e de Equipas, ambos, pela EEC e, mais recentemente, o Advanced Management Program da Kellogg|Católica. Começou em 1981 numa Empresa de Construção e até 1988 desempenhou funções de Diretora Financeira em outras duas empresas, numa Empresa de Transportes Marítimos e numa Empresa Internacional Têxtil. Em 1988 começou a implantação, em Portugal, do Grupo INDITEX, onde exerceu até 30 de Junho de 2017, as funções de Diretora Geral das suas empresas no país. Deixou a empresa com 350 lojas, mais de 6000 colaboradores e uma faturação de mais de 900 milhões de Euros. Em acumulação de funções, tutelou vários projetos na área internacional. Hoje é Coach Executivo, Consultora, Professora e Membro do Conselho Geral na AESE Business School. A nível pessoal considera-se atenta e implicada com assuntos de natureza ecológica e social. Sempre praticou diferentes modalidades de desporto, mas foi no Yoga que se encontrou. Gosta de música, teatro e ópera mas, sobretudo, adora viajar e mergulhar noutras culturas. IESE (4ª edição).Professor de Política Comercial e de Marketing da AESE Business School, com especial interesse na comunicação integrada de marketing, foi membro-fundador do Centro de Investigação em Marketing da escola e frequenta atualmente o doutoramento em gestão no ISEG – Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão.
Empreendedor desde 1998, fundou e gere várias empresas de marketing e comunicação desde então, colaborando com clientes em Portugal, Espanha, Dinamarca, Suíça, Alemanha e Austrália, em projetos nacionais e internacionais. Promoveu e participou como mentor em programas de aceleração de startups e foi Business Angel em várias Entidades Veículo.
Praticante amador de desporto, fundou e presidiu à Federação Portuguesa de Corridas de Obstáculos (FPOCR), tendo sido responsável pela candidatura e gestão do Campeonato da Europa da modalidade, realizado em 2025 no Estádio Nacional – Jamor, que reuniu mais de 2.000 atletas de 25 nacionalidades.

Em 1997 concluiu o 13º Programa de Direção de Empresas na AESE Business School. É desde 2001 Mestre em Engenharia Civil com especialidade em Ciências da Construção pela Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra e desde 2009 Doutor em Engenharia Civil pela mesma universidade, tendo-se especializado no tema Criação de Valor nas Organizações.No decurso da sua atividade profissional acumulou experiência no setor da Construção Civil e Obras Públicas, desempenhando funções de Diretor nas áreas de Produção, Qualidade e Recursos Humanos. Enquanto Diretor de Obras, entre 1991 e 2001 foi responsável pela construção de diversas obras de edificação, rodoviárias e ferroviárias. Em 2008 integrou a Comissão de Honra do Fórum Internacional de Gestão da Construção. Foi responsável por diversos projetos estruturantes nos domínios da Certificação de Sistemas de Gestão da Qualidade e Sistemas, Desenvolvimento de Competências e Formação Profissional.
É Formador Certificado pelo IEFP e responsável por diversos programas de formação elaborados em contexto de consultoria. Tem lecionado desde 2001 como Professor Convidado em várias instituições de ensino superior Universitário e Politécnico. Foi responsável por diversas unidades curriculares nas áreas de economia, gestão e engenharia civil, na Universidade de Coimbra e na Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão de Leiria.
É desde 2008 Senior Teaching Fellow de Operações, Tecnologia e Inovação na AESE Business School. No âmbito dos Global Awards 2024/2025 (CLW, UK) foi distinguido como “Business Management & Education of the Year”.
Entre 2010 e 2016 foi Supervisor Técnico e Científico no Instituto de Investigação e Desenvolvimento Tecnológico para a Construção, Energia, Ambiente e Sustentabilidade (ITeCons, Universidade de Coimbra). Arguente em dissertações de mestrado e doutoramento em instituições de ensino superior, integrou a comissão científica de diversas conferências nacionais e internacionais, sendo revisor científico de artigos publicados. Foi Chair em diversas conferências nacionais e internacionais. Desenvolve investigação aplicada em domínios relacionados com a criação de valor nas organizações designadamente modelos organizativos, gestão de competências e otimização de processos. É autor de vários artigos científicos apresentados em conferências nacionais e internacionais, incluindo publicação em Journals. Os artigos que apresentou em conferências internacionais obtiveram por várias vezes a distinção “Best Paper Award” e “Best Presentation Award”. Concebeu diversos Serious Games que simulam realidades organizacionais diversas [Using Serious Games within Simulation Living Labs for Capacity Building and Value Creation in Modern Organisations. ISBN 978-1-5361-8602-4. - 2020, p. 99-127]. Em 2021 criou a marca BIGAMES© - Business Interactive Games, Simuladores de Gestão utilizados na Formação de Executivos. Por dois anos consecutivos os BIGAMES© obtiveram a distinção “Innovation in Managerial Education Solutions” (UK).
É Sócio-Fundador e desde 2010 Diretor Executivo da empresa Bigadvantage Consultores, onde exerce consultadoria em entidades públicas e privadas de diferentes setores de atividade económica, em indústria e serviços. Foi responsável por dezenas de projetos de consultoria. Por dois anos consecutivos (2023, 2024) a sua empresa foi considerada uma das 5% Melhores PME Portuguesas, sendo recentemente distinguida como “Multidisciplinary Consultancy of the Year” e “Best Technical and Management Consulting Firm” (distinções atribuídas por duas entidades independentes sediadas em UK), no âmbito dos Global Excellence Awards.

É professor, na AESE, na área de Comunicação. Leciona no Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, no curso de “Som e Imagem” e também dá formação na Escola Profissional Val do Rio. No ISCTE orienta a disciplina de “História e Imagem”, num dos mestrados.
Tem três romances publicados até à data e diversos artigos na imprensa portuguesa.
Escreve críticas de cinema no Correio da AESE. Alguns desses textos foram editados nos seus livros “Ver, aprender e vencer – 75 filmes”, depois no “80 novos filmes para vencer na vida” e recentemente no “O cinema inspira a vida – 101 filmes”

Concluiu o Executive MBA AESE/IESE em 2005. Frequentou diversas Escolas de Negócios e Universidades internacionais como sejam a HEC Paris, CASS Business School, London Business School, ou a ESADE. É licenciado Ciências Militares Navais, pela Escola Naval.Concluiu a pós-graduação em Corporate Governance da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa, o Programa de Conselhos de Administração do IESE, e o programa de Corporate Governance and the Effectiveness of Boards da Universidade de Groningen.
Foi Oficial da Marinha de Guerra Portuguesa, onde chefiou departamentos a bordo de navios de guerra.
Posteriormente desempenhou diversas funções em empresas do sector das telecomunicações e na indústria Subsea, tendo sido Gestor Sénior da Aker Solutions UK, entre 2013 a 2018.
Atualmente é Professor de Gestão na Escola Naval e Senior Teaching Fellow na AESE.
Os seus interesses É um interessado por pensamento sistémico e decisão, história e tecnologia, multiculturalismo e política de empresa. Nos tempos livres gosta de fazer vela.
Publicações É autor de artigos e publicações na área de corporate governance, abordagem sistémica ao risco e pensamento sistémico.
