Considera ser uma mulher de operações que se entusiasma por levar à prática o pensamento estratégico. Porém, antes da estratégia, estão as pessoas, pois “só o trabalho em equipa nos leva” à criação de valor para o negócio. Em 2019, fez a sua passagem pela AESE, frequentando o PDE – Programa de Direção de Empresas, que considera ter sido “absolutamente essencial para a consolidação” da sua trajetória pessoal e profissional.
Quais os principais marcos na sua trajetória profissional, que contribuíram para chegar à posição na qual se encontra? Faz 25 anos que comecei a trabalhar e o facto de ter passado por diferentes empresas, de setores distintos e com funções diversas é o que hoje me distingue enquanto profissional e pessoa. Ao longo destes anos, consegui extrair de todas as experiências, vivências positivas e menos positivas, mais impactantes e menos impactantes e é essa miscelânea que me vai empurrando para a frente. A empresa que até à data mais me marcou foi a Telecel-Vodafone. Para uma jovem de 23 anos estar ao lado de mentes disruptivas e visionárias e crescer numa cultura de inovação nos anos 90 era difícil de encontrar em Portugal. Lembro-me de absorver cada palavra do Eng. António Coimbra ( na altura VP da Telecel e atual Presidente da Vodafone Espanha) e de ficar fascinada com a visão que tinha para as telecomunicações (diria que tudo veio a acontecer!). A minha passagem pela consultoria veio mostrar-me que nunca seria uma boa consultora. Sou e serei sempre uma mulher de viver as operações e entusiasma-me francamente a translação do pensamento estratégico para a prática. Na Saúde, fiz vários projetos que foram verdadeiros marcos: Liderar o Leaping Forward – Congresso Mundial de Medicina, em 2014, no grupo Espírito Santo Saúde; Pensar e fazer nascer a Academia Cuf com todas as valências que hoje possui, desenhar e pensar o Centro de Simulação  da Cuf Tejo, e no último ano, fazer nascer o Centro de Conhecimento do grupo Lusíadas e participar em diferentes ações de Engagement clínico com o grupo United Healthcare. Importante destacar, que foi e continua a ser fulcral, estudar, ouvir, aprender… acompanhar a carreira com passagens por momentos de aprendizagem. O curso de Direção de Empresas na AESE (PDE), que foi a mais recente formação que tive oportunidade de fazer, foi absolutamente essencial para a consolidação da minha experiência profissional e para reforçar o sentido da minha vida pessoal.
Quais foram as suas principais conquistas? Todos os dias da nossa vida são uma conquista (e isto não é um cliché)… a nossa vida profissional também se faz de pequenos nadas e grandes coisas. Mas diria que a maior conquista foi a de ter deixado um legado e pequenas marcas por onde fui passando com projetos que desenvolvi e pelas equipas que tive a oportunidade e a alegria de liderar. A maior conquista é o rasto de amigos e de talentosas pessoas que ajudei ou contribui para projetar. Essa é a maior conquista! As pessoas!
Quais as principais lições que a tornam a dirigente que é hoje? Primeiro as pessoas, depois a estratégia. É claro para mim, que não são os negócios que criam valor, mas sim as pessoas. Só o trabalho em equipa nos leva aos resultados que definimos. Que todos e cada um de nós contribui e que devemos ser capazes de exercitar a escuta ativa de forma permanente; a palavra empatia deve ser vivida a cada segundo da nossa vida. Paralelamente, ser resiliente, ágil e com uma capacidade de adaptação contínua às situações que se me vão impondo. Enfim, Liderar é servir, logo é fácil a inferência de que a principal lição é a de estar ao serviço dos que tenho a oportunidade e privilégio de liderar!
Quais os valores pelos quais se rege e que transmite às suas equipas? Lealdade,Verdade, Coragem, transparência, agilidade, simplicidade, competência e confiança.
Se pudesse recuar no tempo, o que faria diferente? Teria trabalhado noutras geografias… é do que sinto mais falta, mas a vida pessoal não me permitiu... pode ser que ainda aconteça! Com os filhos mais crescidos e já por sua conta… Teria parado um ano para correr o mundo, viver com outros povos, ensaiar a aprendizagem de novas línguas…
Profissionalmente, como se vê daqui a 5 anos? A fazer caminho, a dar sempre o melhor de mim a cada situação, a cada equipa, a cada pessoa! A aceitar o que de muito bom ou de menos bom a vida me trouxer e a ser grata por tudo o que já fiz e vivi e por tudo o que ainda sonho e quero fazer! Assim me vejo profissionalmente daqui  a 5 anos a trabalhar afincadamente com a mesma energia, alegria e entusiasmo com que imprimi a minha vida profissional ao longo destes 25 anos! Fundadora do LNEG, a atual Presidente do Conselho Diretivo, alicerçou-se na coragem, na preserverança, na calma e na paciência para concretizar os passos que definiu no seu caminho. Alumna da AESE no Programa AMEG – Advanced Management in Energy, encara o futuro com otimismo e ambiciona vir a desempenhar uma carreira de âmbito internacional.
Quais os principais marcos na sua trajetória profissional, que contribuiram para chegar à posição de Presidente Conselho Diretivo do LNEG? O que mais influência teve na minha trajectória foi, em primeiro lugar, a minha irrequietude permanente, o não acomodamento, o interesse desde muito cedo pelas questões europeias, em particular o seu impacto na gestão da investigação, e a participação em variadíssimos grupos de trabalho na Comissão Europeia (CE). Esta colaboração estreita com a CE quer em projetos de investigação, quer em processos de avaliação, quer em grupos de aconselhamento, permitiram-me sair do círculo estritamente universitário e de conforto e, no final, ter visibilidade. Posteriormente, fui convidada como vice-presidente para a investigação no INETI (instituto com muitas valências científicas, desde a indústria alimentar, passando pela indústria farmacêutica até à energia). Com a extinção deste instituto fui responsável pela reorganização das diferentes áreas científicas participando de forma muito activa na distribuição das competências (recursos humanos, equipamentos e projectos) pelos laboratórios afins. Passado este trabalho, acabei por ser convidada para liderar o instituto que reunia a energia e geologia e a fundar o LNEG.
Quais foram as suas principais conquistas? Ter sido capaz de tranquilamente coordenar a extinção do INETI e de construir um LNEG, par dos seus pares, capaz de funcionar como um verdadeiro Research and Technology Operator (RTO), capaz de apoiar as políticas públicas e de transferir conhecimento para a sociedade.
Quais as principais lições que a tornam a dirigente que é hoje? Ter tido coragem para enfrentar situações difíceis e lutar para as ultrapassar, ter perseverança para aceitar que nem sempre conseguimos o que é óbvio mas que com paciência se conquista e ter calma em situações de aparente descontrolo, a calma permite-nos raciocinar de forma mais cerebral e menos emocional.
Quais os valores pelos quais se rege e que transmite às suas equipas? Sermos serviço público e termos que devolver à sociedade o que ela nos dá e aplicarmo-nos no nosso trabalho sempre pautados pelos princípios da ética. Sermos uma equipa, que rema para de forma coordenada e em que todos os remadores contam.
