Maria de Fátima Carioca has been Dean of AESE Business School since 2014 and a Professor in the area of the Human Factor in Organisations since 2005.
She holds a PhD in Management from Manchester Business School – The University of Manchester, a degree in Electrical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, and a Master’s in Systems and Computer Engineering from the same university. She also holds a Master’s in Marriage and Family from the University of Navarra.
Co-founder of Edisoft – a software services and development company, where she held various roles in Business and People Management for around 20 years.
At AESE, she coordinates initiatives and studies in the areas of People Management, Talent, the Future of Work, Work–Family Balance, Family Businesses, Leadership and Business Ethics. She is the author of several articles and case studies and a co-author of several books, including “Free Markets with Sustainability and Solidarity: Facing the Challenge”, “O que deves saber sobre ética”, “Esperança e Reinvenção” and, more recently, “O Futuro do Trabalho”.
She is married and the mother of three children.
