He graduated in Civil Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico – University of Lisbon, in 1990, the year in which he began his professional activity. In 1997, he completed the 13th Business Management Program at AESE. He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialty in Construction Sciences from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra and, since 2009, a PhD in Civil Engineering from the same university, having specialized in the theme of Value Creation in Organizations.
He has a consolidated career in Civil Construction and Public Works, where he led the areas of Production, Quality and Human Resources. He has taken over the Management of dozens of building works and road and railway infrastructures, along with the coordination of engineering specialties in several building construction projects, being since 2022 Contract Manager in public works.
Since 2015, her professional career has also included consulting and training in the health area, activities oriented towards operational efficiency, service organization, competence management models and process optimization, with a focus on results. He is a founding partner and Executive Director of Bigadvantage Consultores, a company that since 2023 has been classified by an independent entity as one of the 5% best Portuguese SMEs. In the consulting activity, which he has been carrying out since 2010, he has collaborated with several public and private entities, having received several international awards in consecutive years (e.g., Multidisciplinary Consultancy of the Year, UK 2024/25 and 2025/2026).
Since 2001, he has taught as a Guest Professor at University and Polytechnic Higher Education institutions. He has been a Senior Teaching Fellow since 2008 and, as of 2025, an Associate Professor at AESE Business School. In 2024 it was distinguished as “Business Management & Education of the Year” (Global Awards, awarded by an independent entity in the United Kingdom).
Between 2010 and 2016, he was Technical and Scientific Supervisor at the Institute for Research and Technological Development for Construction, Energy, Environment and Sustainability – University of Coimbra. He has been an examiner in master’s and doctoral dissertations in higher education institutions. He has been a member of the scientific committee of several national and international conferences, being responsible for the scientific review of dozens of articles submitted by various authors.
He develops applied research in areas related to process optimization and value creation.

He is the author of several Serious Games in a simulation context, using technological solutions and incorporation of AI, used in AESE Programs.
Scientific articles on the research carried out have been distinguished as “Best Paper Award” in several international conferences (between 2019 and 2025).
The BIGAMES© brand has been awarded for several consecutive years, in the context of Global Awards, such as the “Innovation in Managerial Education Solutions” awards (UK, in 2023, 2024 and 2025) and “Experiential Learning Provider of the Year” (UK, in 2025).
Since 2023, Professor Nuno Biga has been a member of the QS Reimagine Education Awards (UK) Jury.
