What are the main milestones in your professional career, which contributed to reaching the position of Vice President of Caixa Económica do Montepio Geral?

A successful academic career, complemented by permanent updates at the management level such as the Senior Management Program at AESE.

To have accepted, with humility and the same enthusiasm, the various challenges that have arisen, never losing the ambition to reach the top.

What were your main achievements?

In a world that is still very masculine, having achieved, through professional affirmation, a top place.
Never having put my family in the background, which has accompanied the evolution of my career and to whom I have always dedicated special and priority attention, particularly in moments of important decisions.

What are the main lessons that make you the leader you are today?

Never give up.
Base all action on unshakable values.
To enjoy every moment, every day, every negotiation, every project, every decision as moments of learning and growth.
And always respect teams and “peers”.

Honesty (also intellectual), loyalty, rigor, truth, justice, respect, humility, simplicity, as well as the will to evolve, permanent ambition and identification with the values of the organizations we serve.

If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

I would have invested more in networking.
It would perhaps have replaced more emotional decision-making moments with greater rationality.
I am happy and proud of my path and, above all, I would never deviate from the values and priorities that I have always known how to define.

Professionally, how do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself with a calmer, less intense professional life, with non-executive positions, contributing with my knowledge and experience decisively to the development and growth of the companies/organizations I serve. If possible, complement it with a connection to the social cause and knowledge.
