He holds a PhD from the IEH – School of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Navarra, an AESE/IESE Executive MBA, a Master’s in Urban Planning from the Faculties of Architecture and Engineering of the University of Porto, and a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto.
He is a specialist in Service Management, particularly in topics related to Operations and the design and delivery of services to clients. In 2013, he founded a consulting firm that focuses on these areas.
He worked on engineering projects early in his career before living for two years in Kinshasa (DR Congo), where he managed development cooperation projects.
In 1999, upon returning to Portugal, he was hired to manage urban renewal projects for Porto 2001 – European Capital of Culture. He was an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
He has worked for AESE since 2003, where he has held several management positions. Currently, he is a Professor and Head of the Operations, Technology, and Innovation academic area.
In 2024-25, he served as Executive President of an entity within the Ministry of Health, and had previously served as a Non-Executive Director of a private company.
