Psychiatrist. Senior Assistant in Psychiatry at the Lisbon Psychiatric Hospital Centre, where he maintained clinical functions until 2014.
He holds a Master’s degree in Sleep Sciences and a PhD in Psychiatry and Mental Health from the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon.
He was a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Health Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University, where he served as coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme in Mental Health (2011-2017), and Professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (2011-2022).
Currently, he is a Senior Teaching Fellow at AESE Business School in the area of human development and a psychiatrist at CUF Saúde group.
Author of several scientific articles and books, among which the Manual of Clinical Psychiatry, the Dictionary of Psychopathology, and Topics in Ethics stand out.
