Pedro Pimentel was born on June 21, 1960, in Lisbon.
He holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from ETSIA at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, completed a Master’s in Structural Engineering in Porto (FEUP), and earned a PhD in Economics in Lisbon (FEUNL) (specialisation in Macroeconomics).
He is Associate Dean of AESE and responsible for the Finance area, and developed the area’s programmes for PADE, PDE and the MBA. He coordinates AESE’s activities in the North of the country. He is Director of PADE in Porto. He currently lives in Porto.
He was a Trainee Assistant at FEUP and an Assistant at the University of Minho. He left his academic career in 1989 and devoted himself to consultancy (PRIME) for several years, an activity he combines with teaching at AESE (since 1997) and, from 2003 onwards, with serving on its Executive Board. He was a Non-Executive Director at CGD and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of three companies in the Goldenwealth Group.
He attended Corporate Finance programmes in Spain (IESE) and in the United States (Kellogg).

- Company valuation; preparation and analysis of projects; cost of capital; project finance.
- Corporate governance of companies and institutions.
- Management education in the current socioeconomic context.
- The development of Angola.
His preferred sporting activity is regular running. Reading (especially fiction) and cinema are his favourite hobbies.
