The implementation of IRCs in hospitals reflects a commitment to modernizing hospital management. This model grants greater autonomy to teams and enables more effective adaptation to the needs of each unit. The integration of professionals from different specialties fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and optimization of care pathways.

Objectives

This practical and interactive program aims to develop crucial competencies for organizational transition:

Leadership and decision-making in decentralized hospital environments

Management of multidisciplinary teams and coordination of care processes

Strategic planning and performance monitoring in IRC contexts

Resource management and workflow optimization

Innovation and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery

Class Profile

The program is designed for:

  • Hospital managers
  • Health Service Coordinators
  • Professionals involved in IRC implementation
  • Leaders of Clinical Administration Teams

Programme

The new structure in Integrated Responsibility Centers (IRC) will enable:

The IRC model promotes more coordinated work among physicians, nurses, technicians, and managers, ensuring efficient communication flow and faster decisions.

Each IRC operates with well-defined goals, aligned with the hospital’s overall strategy, enabling rigorous monitoring of performance and care outcomes.

Decentralized management grants teams greater decision-making power, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

The success of IRCs is measured by the quality of service provided to patients and the efficiency of hospital processes, creating a sustainable model oriented toward excellence.

Those responsible for the new IRCs will need to review management concepts and lead their teams.

Teaching Method

By placing participants in the face of real business conflicts, leaders are called upon to take on the role of decision-makers in circumstances similar to their daily lives in organizations. The cases constitute challenges that require effective responses based on a rigorous analysis of limited or even insufficient information, in ambiguous or complex contexts from a political-economic point of view. Individual diagnosis and decisions are negotiated with experienced, talented, and ambitious colleagues.

This is why learning at AESE is inspired by the Harvard Business School model and developed in the image of IESE Business School.

Currently, the Case Method stands out as a sophisticated means, oriented toward transforming participants’ potential talent into powerful decision-making capability.

Cases produced by faculty and participants of AESE Business School programs are integrated into the ECCH database, the most widely used global repository of cases serving international business schools.

Phases of the Case Method

  • Individual study: Reading and analyzing each case to identify facts, alternatives, and decisions.
  • Group work: Sharing approaches and solutions based on participants’ professional experience.
  • General session: Debate led by the professor, with synthesis of key points and connection to relevant theories.
