From PADIS I retain the humility to realize that we have a lot to learn from others and the notion that as a team we are more complete.
For me, attending PADIS was to feel that there was a kind of responsibility towards what surrounded me. I felt that it was possible to do better in health… I felt that there was an added responsibility to be able to do better. Doctors, as is my case, often tend to be aggressive towards managers and towards all problems in health management. And I felt that it was possible to give a more human touch to management and do a little better for our patients. Taking the PADIS was looking for this complement of management and, on the other hand, of values.
I learned to value, to deal with difference, both the difference in people’s opinions, the difference in experience that people have and also the difference when they confront us with our way of thinking. This was indeed a great asset: to realize that with others we can enrich our contribution to the organization. Therefore, I think the participation of so many people, so many areas of knowledge and ways of thinking so different from ours is phenomenal.
